The metering consumption and interaction consists of two parts

1. 4MDE server (software)
2. 4MDE I/O hardware

The task of 4MDE server is to process any network connection incoming data from the MDE hardware and store them in the SQL database. Further information for the MDE server can be found here.

The hardware consits of:

ŒBase station (Art.No.: 6001)    

The base station is ideally mounted on the mounting rail in the control cabinet of the machine. It requires 24VDC power supply. This base has an integrated switch with two RJ45 Ethernet ports. Up to a signal frequency of 50ms it can be used for example for DNC.

Expansion module

To a base station expansion modules can be connected. The following expansion modules are available: :

• 16 digital input signals (Art.No.: 6004)
• 8 digital inputs and 8 outputs (Art.No.: 6005)
• 4 analog input signals (Art.No.: 6007)
• Mix-in card with 8 digital inputs / outputs, 3 analog inputs and one analog output (Art.No.: 6008)

For the control of energy consumption, we recommend the use of the mix-expansion module. This allows the module with three analog sensor signals to capture f.e. electricity, compressed air or coolant, additional via the digital inputs and eg the machine to detect the traffic light directly productive (automatic mode = green traffic light, Upgrade = yellow traffic light) and non-productive time (error = red traffic light or operate = no traffic light). A digital or analog output for remote shutdown of the machine can be used.
